Cedar and ripe raspberry in the aroma. Complex and smokey with hints of lemon zest. Tart apple and cinnamon in the cup, with notes of bakers chocolate and earthy resonance. Extremely balanced and quite smooth with a long, lingering finish.
The call of the loon is easily recognizable, even to the untrained ear. The Minnesota state bird treats us natives to a light, dancing and fluttering whistle that almost sounds as though it were laughing. It certainly encapsulates the romance of Minnesota's outdoor scenery of plush forests and glistening lakes. In light of this, our organic light roast which was created to replecate our famous non-organic Romance blend took on the name of Whistling Loon.
Paradise has been proud to offer our high scoring mokka-java blend, Romance by Paradise, for many years, especially in a world of specialty coffee where it has become rather rare to find a true Mokka-Java blend. We wanted to replicate this popular profile in an environmentally-consicous form by using only organic green coffee. The rich and robust earthiness of Organic Sumatra pairs extremely well with the sweet berry and bakers chocolate of Organic Ethiopia to create a beautiful representation of a tried and true blend of beans.
Paradise is proud to bring you Whistling Loon Organic Light Roast as part of our new line of organic blends. We always strive to purchase certified organic, Fair Trade and other sustainable coffees whenever possible to ensure that everyone who aided in the production also shares in the benefits. In addition to the benefits in the line of coffee production, Paradisealso strives to support endeavors that are creating a better environment in our own backyard. That's why a portion of proceeds from Whistling Loon will go to support Great River Greening as they work to restore the Anoka Sandplains. This fresh water resource spans 13 counties in Minnesota, including our roaster's county, and Great River Greening works to restore the land that filters most of the drinking water to the Twin Cities and east-central Minnesota.
