Espresso in a demitasse

S. O. Espresso Brazil Ouro Preto

$12.95

Product Description

This S.O. Espresso® perfectly represents the personality of Brazil while offering just a hint of the roast. In the demitasse, sweet aromatics of peanut and caramel mix with a creamy body and mild acidity. Notes of candied cherry, marsh mallow, peanut, and chocolate are all present.

Accolades

medallion-2010-92pts.jpg"Rich, sweet aroma with toast and caramel notes and a smoky suggestion. In the small cup syrupy body and deep, softly pungent flavors of dark chocolate, raisin and aromatic wood. The chocolate turns bittersweet in a slightly astringent finish, but the flavors soften again in two parts milk, blooming nicely while maintaining their complexity and authority. "

Background Info

We’ve been seeking a fully-washed Brazilian coffee for use in our espressos for a while now. It wasn’t necessarily our intent to find something that did well as an S.O., but upon pulling our first test shot of this Brazil, we knew we had to offer this gem. It’s surprisingly sweet, and this sweetness persists shot after shot. The sweetness even shines through at various doses and temperatures.

This espresso is almost like a liquid chocolate bar, so it’s easy to see why we prefer this espresso as a straight shot, but it also does quite well in a small amount of milk.
