Truly great examples of the Yirgacheffe region are hard to find, but this one is a shining example of what they can be. Yirgacheffe is a small premier region in the Gedeo district of the greater Sidamo region. But even in this small growing area there are variations in elevation and climate. Some of the best coffees we've ever come across have come from a small region hidden in the heart of Yirgacheffe - the high elevation 'Misty Valley' where coffee grows at up to 7500 ft above sea level. This coffee is from Abdullah Bagersh's mill near the town of Idido, which also produces the famed Natural process coffee 'Idido Misty Valley'. This coffee however is a rare grade 1 washed process coffee produced for the 2007 Ethiopia Limited auction. We have featured many other coffees produced by Bagersh in this Grand Cru growing region and like the others this coffee is exceptional in both prep and taste.

Classic Yirgacheffe with a twist; there is the lemon, lime and jasmine you would expect plus the sweet effervescence of passion fruit and peaches. Crisp sweet fragrance and as refreshing as a glass of lemonade or iced tea on a hot summer's day.
