After it was founded in 1623, the San Jose Ocana farm initially changed ownership, but ever since Cornelio Lazo Arreaga purchased it in the 19th century, his family has produced coffee there for five generations.
San Jose Ocana was awarded by Illy Cafe for its focus on quality. Visual controls, as well as humidity, fermentation, and drying process are all part of a daily routine. Coffee is carefully wet-milled and sun-dried.

A beautiful, classic cup. The aroma is ripe and suggestive of lime, guava, blackberry, tamarind, and rose. The cup is complete and balanced. Full rounded body with plenty of supporting acidity in body. If you are a fan of classic Central American coffees, this coffee is perfection.
