Background Info
On the shore of Lake Awassa in the Great Rift Valley is the Ethiopian city of Awassa, the last major city one passes through before entering the "coffee forests." Using the city's name in the coffee’s title is a tribute to the area where so many people depend on coffee for their well-being.
Reminiscent of last year’s African special coffees (Biloya and Aricha), Awassa Special is a clean, fruity coffee.
Roastmaster Comments by R. Miguel Meza:
A lush coffee with a tropical effervescence.
Vanilla-like floral notes dance with lemon and lime in the bouquet. The flavors become richer and juicier in the cup, deepening into mango, pineapple, and cream and then fading to milk chocolate and green tea in the finish.
