Background Info
This is our acclaimed Sumatra - Lake Tawar minus the caffeine.

Because most decaffeinated coffee is produced using sub-standard coffee, it's not surprising that decaf coffee rarely tastes even half as good as caffeinated offerings. This made us wonder though. What would happen if we took a top quality coffee and had it decaffeinated? We couldn't resist and sent several bags of our Sumatra Lake Tawar to be decaffeinated by UVVW method, and this is the result.

Coffee in Sumatra is grown entirely by small landholders. Most farmers grow 300-500 coffee trees, alongside cabbage, tomatoes, chillies, and other cash crops, on 2-3 acres of land. Our Lake Tawar is produced by farmers in the premier growing regions of Lintong nihuta and Dolok Sanggul just south-west of scenic Lake Toba. The beans are sorted for defects three times and screened by size leaving only massive beans of 19/64 inch and larger to produce this coffee. For more information on this coffee check out the description of its caffeinated cousin, Sumatra - Lake Tawar.

Roastmaster comments by R. Miguel Meza:
The spicy herbal character of Sumatra carries through delightfully well in this decaf. Sweet spice notes of clove and green cardamom pair well with brown sugar like sweetness in the cup and hints of green pepper.
