Background Info
Approximately 35 years ago, in this same property was located a mill called Beneficio Tibas River that belonged to the grandfathers, uncles, and parents of the now owner, Mrs. Maria Elena Camacho Morales. Twenty years of grief the Camacho family suffered when this mill was sold due to health problems in the family, but still the coffee farm remained in the hands of the Camacho family.

The instability in the coffee market made Mrs. Camacho and her family to question themselves on the future of the coffee business. Nevertheless, a year ago they decided to retake with energy the farm and the crop betting to the quality of the coffee bean. At the same time they build their own mill with the purpose of making that quality possible. And it was like this, how the team made by the family, the workers, and the coffee pickers begun working together with the only one purpose: quality. Mrs. Camacho often says: "The thing I enjoy the most is to watch my grandsons play in the coffee plantations; I like it that they remember their origin, and for them to learn to love the land".

Roastmaster Comments by R. Miguel Meza
A silky refined cup that is quietly extravagant. Just enough perfume to capture your attention and elegant enough to keep you entranced. Crisp and sweet through and through with hints of tropical origin, lemon, lime, acai, honey, and flowers. Understated but unforgettable.

Eye-opening
From the moment I opened the bag through the entire preparation of the coffee, I smelled nothing but caramel. However, when I took the first sip I was slightly let down as there was no caramel to be found. Instead I found grapefruit and a green bell pepper taste followed by the slightest hint of green bean. A good coffee, but I believe the acidity could have been toned down a bit and more of the sugars could have been brought out by a slightly longer roast.

Could it be the roast?
The balance of this coffee is a classic representation of CoE coffees. Unfortunately the roast was extremely light and revealed a subtly unpleasant green bean taste. This taste was usually overpowered with a sweet lemon taste that lingered into the finish. I am not a roaster and do not doubt the artistry of Miguel but, it would be interesting to see how this bean performs with a slightly darker roast.
