Single-cup brewing is an easy way to minimize waste and brew to precise standards. Oftentimes, single-cup brewing is referred to as pourover brewing.  The pourover is a small unit that sits atop a cup in to which coffee (the liquid) will eventually flow. Inserting a filter into the pourover, placing the ground coffee inside the filter, and pouring hot water over the coffee grounds results in a single cup of coffee that can be brewed to precise measurements.
